In Memory of October 7: Strange Blues

Today marks the second anniversary of the Hamas massacre in southern Israel. Terrorists massacred Nova Music Festival attendees, people dancing for and celebrating peace and love, and beyond. They murdered, brutalized, kidnapped and tortured young, old, male, or female. It didn’t matter. They ramped up the ongoing, forever war, there.

This song, Strange Blues, fell out over the course of 2023-24. It is all I have right now. When I think about October 7th, 2023, the world’s response to it, and the forever war raging away, words fail me. So, as a Jewish American, with Ukrainian ancestors who were victims of Hitler’s Holocaust, and as a human, who believes in kindness, decency and peace (how crazy) Strange Blues is my sole response at the moment.

Like so many others, I’m doing the best that I can to keep faith that the current violence and madness will stop. If you, like me, live in the Boston area, the Nova Exhibit, a memorial to the victims, has opened and it runs until October 21st. Maybe I’ll see you there.
