Meet Esther Friedman

I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), expressive art therapist, songwriter, recording artist, performer, and author of The Gentle Souls Revolution. This book depicts my 5-year misadventure in a “secret mystery school” that taught me how cults exploit human nature. I embraced my anger, formed a personal policy of No More Secrets, posted a blog, and started protecting my time and energy fiercely.

A funny thing happened: as I exposed cult secrets and reclaimed my voice, my heart calmed and my mind cleared. I took the narrative back, and my truth contradicted the group’s claimed ideology. I discovered that what was good for me was also good for the people that I love. That’s the therapy model for Gentle Souls.

The GSR Healing Arts mission:

  1. Destigmatize cult and coercive control experiences: raise awareness and educate.

  2. Offer this therapeutic model for self-reclamation, recovery, and empowerment.
